Ep31: Missing From Fort Hood

Vanessa Guillen’s Disappearance:

Something strange is happening in Fort Hood. In the last year, 2 soldiers have disappeared and were never seen from again. I want to start with the most recent disappearance in Fort Hood – the disappearance of 20-year old Private First Class Vanessa Guillen. She was last seen during the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic in the parking lot of the building where she works. She was seen around 1pm by an unknown person (who CID has not publicly named) wearing a black shirt, purple workout leggings, and black Nike sneakers. What’s ominous is what she left behind. In the Arms Room, where Vanessa works, they found her car keys, her room key, and her ID card. In the parking lot, they also discovered Vanessa’s 2011 White Jeep Liberty.

Gregory Morales’ Disappearance:

In 2019, a male soldier – 23 year old Gregory Scott Wedel-Morales also went missing. On August 20, 2019, Greg failed to report to work, so his Sergeant went looking for him at his house. Greg’s wife, Penny Morales, opened the door, but she said she hadn’t seen him since the night before. According to all accounts, Greg has never been seen or heard from again. The week before Greg’s disappearance he bought a new Black 2018 Kia Rio. Both Greg and the car are missing. According to a report, Kim recently said that Penny ran a CarFax report not too long ago and discovered that Greg’s car had been registered in December 2019 in Dallas, Texas.

If you have any information, even if it seems insignificant, please contact the Army Criminal Investigations Division at 254-287-2722. There is a $15,000 reward for anyone who provides information that leads to either Vanessa or Greg.

Brandon Rosecrans’ Murder:

While researching Vanessa and Greg’s disappearances, I came across another Fort Hood case where investigators need your help. On May 18, 2020, Private First Class Brandon Scott Rosecrans was found shot to death outside of Fort Hood. Fort Hood officials have confirmed he was a soldier stationed there. Brandon’s orange 2016 Jeep Renegade was found not too far from Brandon’s location and it had been set on fire. If you have any information, you can call 254-953-5400 or call Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477. There is also a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in Brandon’s murder.
